I am an experienced yoga instructor and last year, I took the Essential Yoga Teacher’s Training with François Raoult. It was a decision that I never regretted and would encourage anyone who wants to renew and enlarge their knowledge of Iyengar’s therapeutic practices, Ayurveda, anatomy, yoga philosophy, in general, or just to go on a spiritual voyage, to embark on this journey. The reading and homework assignments are gems waiting to be discovered. We wrote, painted, drew, made collages, and magic happened as I discovered the poet in me. Yoga, as is Life, is a creative endeavor and this is brought to the forefront. My yoga practice and teaching, already the center of my existence, will never be the same again. The teacher training program at Open Sky is amazing. The real deal. The lead instructor Francois Raoult’s approach is perfect, professionally directing the program to meet all requirements but really sharing so much more. Definitly not cookie cutter. Thoughtful and pertinent assignments are given throughout the program, along with bringing in other leading experts to speak and share with the class. You really get a broad range of views and encouraged to develop your own. Francois really makes all attempts to share the teachings he received directly from B.K.S. Iyengar in an undiluted form, and one feels a connection to the yoga lineage in his sharing . The teaching instruction is profound and clear, one truly learns how to teach asana, but there is also a key integral part to this training in Self development. Students are given space to explore the Self for their own benefit but also their future students’ benefits. I love the teaching style as it really accounts for all types of learners and the assessments consider this as well. Essential Teacher Training at Open Sky is not just a teacher training for aspiring yoga teachers. It is a transformative life experience. Francois offers a rigorous program, requires reading from multiple sources, daily practice, student teaching & extensive writing.
