Intro to Pranayama and Mantra

3 Summer Sessions with Sawyer Ward – 4th Mondays at 4:00pm

Take all 3 classes or drop-in! – In-Studio or Live-stream

Sawyer Ward teaches a progressive class series focused on Pranayama and Mantra. This class is offered both in studio at Living Yoga and via interactive livestream on Zoom.

Pranayama is defined as rhythmic control (ayama) of breath. It is the fourth stage of yoga and the hub around which the wheel of Yoga revolves.

This class is suitable for beginners of pranayama as well as for those who practice it regularly. During each class we will also explore Mantra yoga: the chanting of a Vedic hymn or musical verse to steady the mind and bring about a state of peaceful consciousness. Students can chant along or relax in Savasana, as they choose.

This course is taught by CIYT and musician, Sawyer Ward, who has been teaching asana, pranayama and chanting with the harmonium (a pump organ) for many years.

All 3 dates for this class are: June 22nd, July 27th, and August 24th.
